What is the meaning of Hanyan
Hanyan:”Han”,jaw ,the places where the Ren Channel and Stomach Meridian pass,her refers to the Qi of Stomach Meridian.”Yan”,tired. The name of “Hanyan” means that the Qi of Gallbladder Meridian flow into the various parts of the head by wind-qi. The substance of this point is the weakness water-qi from GB 3(Shangguan) point. After reaching this point, the water-qi due to absorbing heat and expand and dissipate into wind-qi and travel to the various parts of the head. The Qi of Gallbadder Meridian affect the Qi of Stomach travelling to the head through ST 25(Touwei) point,so it is tired by Stomach Meridian, hence the name.
