What is the meaning of Taiyi
Taiyi:”Tai”,super or large,”Yi”,refers to wind. The name of “Taiyi” means that the Qi of Stomach Meridian develop strong wind-qi here. The substance of this acupoint is the wet cloud-qi that comes from ST 22(Guanmen) acupoint. It travels from the upper part of the heaven of ST 22 to the lower part of the heaven of this acupoint. After the wet cloud-qi reach this point, it expands and spreads to develop strong wind-qi that moves horizontally due to absorbing the abdomen heat,hence the name.
